Supreme Court nod to get African cheetah to India?

The Supreme Court of India has granted permission to the Central government to import African Cheetahs from Namibia in order to reintroduce them to India. The Supreme Court has given their nod to the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) to take appropriate steps to introduce the African cheetah in India. This decision is taken in an effort to restore the population of cheetahs in India, which is currently extinct.
